Transformation of
the construction business process
Transformation of the construction business process
The construction industry faces a variety of challenges, including the aging of the working-age population and the shrinking manufacturing workforce, the application of overtime work limits that were implemented in FY2024, and addressing environmental issues.
To resolve these challenges in the construction industry, we are executing the “T-Base® Project,” an initiative aimed at transforming processes across our entire core business.
Please watch this video for an overview of T-Base®.
Challenges surrounding
the construction industry and our initiatives
“Transformation of the construction process” is our initiative to change the way construction is carried out, with a shift from single-item production on sites that are unique to the construction industry (in other words, site-by-site “construction management”) to platformbased “Transformation of the construction business process.”
Through this initiative, we will contribute to solving problems in the industry through manpower and labor reduction and decreasing the environmental impact of the construction process.
Transformation of the construction business process, a facility that serves as the core of our planning, production, and logistics. Centered on this facility, we have been developing and manufacturing standardized products and new unit construction methods, as well as developing a material and equipment information management system linking our partner companies, suppliers, and worksites, and have begun full-scale operations throughout Japan.
Features and effects of
T-Base®
T-Base® is a platform for the transformation of construction business processes.
Until now, construction drawings have been drafted and onsite one-product construction has been conducted for each construction site (onsite).
Going forward, we will plan standardized units for common parts and repetitive work regardless of the site, and produce and supply them from off-site.
We will implement production management, including planning, production, and logistics, through T-Base®, which will reduce onsite labor, equalize on-site processes, and improve construction quality.
Additionally, T-Base® offers a well-organized work environment different from construction sites and accommodates diverse working styles, such as shortened working hours.
It provides a place where diverse talents, including local housewives and seniors who have not previously experienced the construction industry, can engage in production at off-site locations, allowing them to be involved in the construction industry.

T-Base®menu
Even in construction sites where one-product construction is the norm, there are parts with repetitive tasks.
We recognized this issue and have developed standardized units that pre-combine equipment and materials. By deploying these as part of the T-Base® menu, we are increasing the off-site rate of construction sites. We are opening up the developed menu to the industry through distributors and working to solve challenges across the entire construction industry.

Construction and operation of Kowakai cooperation satellites
In addition to T-Base®, which serves as the primary factory, we are gradually expanding the network of Kowakai cooperation satellites to establish a system that meets demand.
This allows us to equalize the workload in each region and shift to nationwide production.

Initiatives to contribute to the environment centered on
T-Base®
We are promoting three major environmental initiatives with T-Base®.

WORK3
Through multiple initiatives, we are working to contribute to the environment in the production and supply cycle of the construction industry.

Future development
Going forward, we will increase the number of standard technologies and units handled by T-Base® and establish a nationwide production system.
At the satellite locations built across the country, the units will be created by members of the “Kowakai,” which is composed of our partner companies.
Previously, we addressed the varying levels of busyness in each region by relocating personnel. However, by producing standardized units at satellite locations and transporting them to construction sites, we aim to equalize the workload across regions and contribute to the work-life balance of the workforce.
