Thorough Occupational Safety

Basic Approach to
Safety and Health

Under our established safety and health philosophy of “Safety is the top priority in carrying out all business tasks,” we are carrying out health and safety activities on construction sites. These activities are based on the basic approach of “The employees working for Takasago Thermal Engineering and their families must never suffer from accidents at construction sites.”
Furthermore, our President conducts on-site patrols during National Safety Week.

On-site safety patrols aim to prevent occupational accidents by identifying potential risks early within the site and implementing improvements.
For the Company, during National Safety Week held every July, directors, including the President, regularly visit sites to conduct safety checks and review the status of improvements.

Risk Analysis, Identification, and Countermeasures

In recent years, we have identified the elimination of three types of accidents that have led to serious incidents as key priorities and have established specific action items aimed at preventing occupational accidents.
To ensure that these key priorities are translated into concrete actions, we compile specific initiatives in the “Safety and Health Activities Policy,” which is issued at the beginning of each fiscal year and communicated to all technical staff and partner companies. As part of this policy, we have introduced risk assessment into our safety and health management, and each construction site is required to proactively identify potential risks and thoroughly implement appropriate countermeasures.
We hold monthly Safety and Health Committee meetings at the head office, main office and each branch, thereby establishing a coordinated safety and health management system across the Company. In addition, Safety and Health Committee members at the main office and branches take the lead in conducting safety patrols at construction sites, while continuously working to identify and improve site-specific issues through operational guidance and meetings on risk analysis.
We also actively utilize digital transformation (DX), such as online streaming of the annual Company-wide Safety and Health Conference held each spring and remote holding of various meetings, to share information quickly and broadly. Through these efforts, we strive to enhance awareness of safety and health activities and improve management standards among all employees and partner companies.

Cooperation with Partner Companies

Kowakai was organized to enhance cooperation with our partner companies working together on the construction sites. It consists of the headquarters and branches. The health and safety cooperation committee established in each of them is committed to the communication of information on health and safety technologies, PR activities, and thorough dissemination of relevant laws. The branches implement activities to improve health and safety including the Branch Office Health and Safety Convention.
Kowakai also operates an online system for safety improvement, TKCS-s (Takasago Kowakai Communication Systems-safety), to share safety information.
