Areas of Activity Contributing to
Local Communities

In March 2020, we opened the Takasago Thermal Engineering Innovation Center, which consolidates research and development, business development, and some other functions of our head office, in Tsukubamirai, Ibaraki Prefecture. In August of that year, we concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement with the Tsukubamirai municipal government with the aim of mutual collaboration in the areas of education, disaster risk reduction, community, and energy to realize a decarbonized society and resolve societal issues. Based on this agreement, we are implementing various initiatives for the sustainable development of the local community and the realization of a city of the future.

Examples of Initiatives

To promote comprehensive partnership activities, a partnership council and subcommittees for education, disaster risk reduction, community, and energy have been established and continuously work together with city officials.

Education

We support science education by providing hands-on science exhibits for local children and offering a program to assist them with their independent research assignments on summer vacation.

Disaster Risk Reduction

We have donated air conditioning and ventilation booths developed using our technology for evacuation centers during disasters. We have also developed a new air conditioning and ventilation system for gymnasiums that serve as evacuation centers during disasters, and installed it at a nearby elementary school.

Community

We regularly hold the Takasago Marche, an event that also includes tours of our Innovation Center facilities. Each Takasago Marche event attracts a large number of civic groups and visitors.

Energy

We continue to consider ways to provide our technology and expertise to promote carbon neutrality efforts in parallel with the government.
