Diversity and Inclusion Senior Employees

We have introduced a Selective Retirement Age System that allows employees to select a preferred retirement age from 60-to-65 years. This system gives employees the flexibility to choose a retirement age that suits their individual life plan. Even after reaching retirement age, senior employees can continue working up to the age of 75 years based on certain conditions. It is also possible for employees to work 3-to-4 days a week for health reasons. Furthermore, from the perspective of equal pay for equal work, we have put in place an equal and balanced wage system for employees before they reach the age of 60 years.
With a focus on “the era of living to 100 years,” we are creating an environment where all senior employees who have a wealth of experience can also continue working at the Company with vitality and a high level of motivation.

Participation and Recognition of Senior Employees:
President’s Commendation Award

Section 3 of the Technical Engineering Division 3, Tokyo Main Office
Koji Aoki
Date of joining the Company: 1973 (Years of continued service: 50)

  • Affiliation and position as of January 2023.

Mr. Aoki is an example of a senior employee who is still active in the Company. He received the FY2022 President’s Commendation Award* Special Award (Active Participation of Senior Employees).

Starting with his work on the construction of the first facility in the Shinjuku Subcenter Development Project, since joining the Company, Mr. Aoki has been working entirely on construction management projects in the Shinjuku area. In addition to building relations of trust with customers and contributing to the Company’s business results over many years, Mr. Aoki has a strong sense of mission as a senior employee, and he has been earnestly teaching and guiding his successors not only in the Company, but also temporary workers from staffing agencies and employees from partner companies. These efforts have made Mr. Aoki a model senior employee who is actively participating in the Company.

Mr. Aoki received the FY2022 President’s Commendation Award. Reflecting on his personal experiences of major changes of the times, from the era of using an abacus and hand-drawn diagrams to the present day of work style reforms and DX (digital transformation) strategies, he commented “I want younger employees to be able communicate about things for themselves, so that we can keep growing the Company for the next 100 years.”
We will continue to encourage the active participation of senior employees, so that they can demonstrate their high level of technical skills and capabilities, and pass them on to the next generation.

  • The President’s Commendation Award is different to the Long Service Award. This award recognizes the efforts of employees from a wide range of perspectives, including actions that follow the corporate mission, develop the Company’s business, and contribute to solving issues in society.
