Sustainability Management Promotion System

Establishing an ESG Promotion Committee

In April 2021, we established an ESG Promotion Committee—an expansion of the existing CSR Committee—and a structure to position and promote initiatives related to ESG and SDGs at the center of our business activities.
The committee is chaired by the president and comprises directors (excluding outside directors) and Chief Executive Officers of Headquarters, functions as an advisory body to the Board of Directors, and meets at least five times a year. At these meetings, the committee discusses climate-related issues, diversity promotion, human capital enhancement, and other topics related to sustainability management, brings and reports matters to the Board of Directors on a case-by-case basis, and receives instructions and supervision from the Board of Directors as necessary.
Depending on the issues to be focused on, working groups are established under the committee to focus the knowledge of the entire Company on the issues and proceed with consideration in a relatively short period of time.
