Initiatives for Social Contribution Activities
Facility Tour for
Elementary School Students
In June 2022, we held a facility tour at the Takasago Thermal Engineering Innovation Center (in Tsukubamirai City) for children from nearby elementary schools (45 participants). In addition to listening to an explanation about air conditioning, the children were able to experience air conditioning that they are usually not aware of through an “air tube.” This device let the children experience the summer climate in Thailand (tropical), Chile (desert), and Antarctica. There was also an “air sofa,” which allowed the children to experience the difference in temperature transfer between two types of sofas (air and water). The children also learnt about the world’s first attempt to electrolyze water on the moon’s surface, which was demonstrated in front of a full-scale lunar module (lander) exhibit. We will continue to actively contribute to communities, through cooperation with local governments and educational institutions.
Listen to Professionals
In March 2022, we participated in a Listen to Professionals event held at a junior high school in Tokyo, as part of an integrated learning program.
Our employees talked to the students, who were divided into groups of five or six, about their work, fulfillment, and the hardships they face. The students asked specific questions, such as, “Why did you choose this job?” “How do you calculate the direction, temperature, and strength of the wind?” and “Can you quickly change the amount and strength of the wind based on the number of people?” We will continue to actively create opportunities that will expand the possibilities for children, who will carry the future.
Forest of
Takasago Thermal Engineering
Since 2016, we have leased forests in Gunma and Kyoto prefectures as the Forest of Takasago Thermal Engineering. We have also continued with our forest conservation activities, which are carried out by Takasago Thermal Engineering Group company employees and their families, in collaboration with NPOs and local governments. In addition to these forest conservation activities, we are participating in the environmental activities of the local governments where our branches are located. In Malaysia, we have designated a 10-ha section of the grounds of the University of Malaysia, Sarawak as the Takasago no Mori (Forest of Takasago Thermal Engineering), and we are planting trees there. Through these activities for experiencing nature, we will continue to convey the importance of the global environment through opportunities to interact with forests and the living creatures that inhabit them, and by nurturing an appreciation of nature.
Community Cleanup Activities
Cleanup activities at the Niigata Office
With the cooperation of Group companies and partner companies, we have been carrying out community cleanup activities across Japan.
- Less of these activities were carried out during FY2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
